Creating identity from a myth
When the local daycare refreshed its childcare program it was time to establish a clear corporate identity to communicate to the community that change was in the air. With no pre-existing logo to work with, I developed a new brand identity from scratch based on the origin myth surrounding the name of the daycare.
The design traces elements of the local Inuit culture, from the style of packing parka to the tint of the Northern Lights. While narrative in approach - to match the prevailing style in the community - the logo is simplified and repeatable for easy reproduction on print material as well as large format posters and banners.
